  2. I too use SF Reading Street and feel very lucky that you create games related to the weekly skills that accompany our stories. Just finished Lady in the Moon and teaching Phonics Skill-Long i using /ie/ and /igh/. Personally, I think teaching /ie/ and /igh/ is on the "high" end of instruction in first grade considering their personal "libraries" are somewhat limited for a majority of students in my class. I did have to help them by planting the "seed" this week that they would use /igh/ in a word that had a final consonant "ending sound" (Ex. light) and would use /ie/ in a word that did not have a final consonant "ending sound." (Ex. tie) However - we did have an exception - high. We really put THAT one into our "muscle memory" and their internalizing the long i sound using /ie/ /igh/ went well. They definitely were noticing "those" words in their FREE reads this week. I would love the resource to provide more hands on instruction with /ie/ and /igh/!!
