Rainbow Addition and Subtraction

If you’re like me and want your students to practice addition and subtraction….ALL THE TIME, here’s one of my math tubs for next week. After reading Debbie Diller’s Math Work Stations I’m planning a complete overhaul of math time for next year. Am I the only one already planning for next year. I do this every April…the creative juices start flowing for the next year….sad I know.

Anyway hope you can use this.

  5. I love it, but DocStoc is saying I need to subscribe to download it. Do you have to pay for it?

  6. No, you don't have to pay...try using another browser...if that doesn't work e-mail me and I'll send it to you.

  7. No, you’re not the only one planning for first grade. I’m already thinking about it and I’m on Spring break, so I’m both enjoying the rest and thinking and creating for next year.

We will be changing to Everyday Math, so I’ll be reading Debbie’s new book. I’m dreading the revamping of my Math station, though. I don’t know if I’ll have the $$ to do what I want. But I’ll think about that later.

    Thanks for sharing!

  8. Ms. A, you have convinced me to bite the bullet and buy Debbie Diller's math book. Your blog is my favorite! I consistently find great ideas and resources (that you so generously share.) Being part of a community of generous teachers like you inspired me to pay it forward. Keep it up.

  14. I am already totally on next year mode as well! I've never done math stations before, but you've inspired me to start! Do you have a schedule and each group does 1 a week? Then do you switch your stations each week? Just curious! Thanks!

I plan four stations each week. Two of them are review activities...concepts I want to keep in front of the students all year long...then I have two that are based on whatever new skill we are working on. They rotate to one each day M-Th...and on Fridays it's catch up day.
