Some Freebies and a Sale

It’s been a minute since a post because I’ve been working feverishly to get my room ready for back to school! If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve seen a few things. I hope to have pictures of my classroom posted on tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that…..

First off a freebie. I always complete three to four main graphs during the fist week of school: How Did You Feel About First Grade?, Who Was Your Kindergarten Teacher?, How Do You Get Home? Here is the graph I’ll do on the first day of school.

*** I printed and cut out the letters individually, FYI. Click on the picture if you’d like a copy. Please do not ask me to make any changes, like bringing the letters closer together. Please accept this freebie as is. Thanks so much.

I also whipped up a Behavior Clip Chart. I know there are tons out there but just wanted to share the one I created. Click on the picture to grab you copy. *** Please see above.

Have you read the book Smarter Charts? I love this book!

Well after re-reading it for the new year,  I created this chart to explain to my first graders what my expectations are for the type of work they produce in my classroom.

Tomorrow I’ll meet my new crop of first graders! My prayer is that we all have a wonderful year filled with excitement and unlimited blessings. I pray that the Lord walk with us each and every step of the way to lift us when are down, to give us encouragement when we falter, and grant us unlimited favor. Amen.

Have a wonderful school year!

Now I’m off to hunt for my Daily Five book…I always misplace that book every year. what does that say about me????? HaHa!

  1. Thank you! I love the chart with examples of work and expectations. I do one of those every year too, and place it next to my "I'm done!" basket. Thanks for the "How did you feel about first grade?" graph goodies! Good luck with your new crew. I still have a couple of weeks, so I'm in frenzy mode to get things together too.

  3. I hadn't heard of Smart Charts-may have to check that one out! I like the idea of doing graphs with them on how they feel the first day-I can't do the teacher one because I'm looping with my group, most would have the same answer! :) Thank you for sharing your ideas! :)

  4. I just received the Smarter Charts book this week but like you, my kiddos will arrive promptly at 7:15 a.m. in the morning - whether I am ready or not! I'm sad that I have yet to be able to read beyond the first page.

I so, SO need a wow work anchor chart for my classroom. Yours is simply lovely!

Most of all, though... I wanted to tell you how much I needed to hear the words of your prayer! Our great God will even speak through the words of a first grade blog post. He knows no boundaries!

    Enjoy your week, Ms A!
