I went to the teacher supply store today to pick up a few posters like this one.
There weren’t any floating my boat, so I decided…
I could make my own.
I know there are tons of these guys floating around but I wanted to add some spark to my set this year. So I made these too.
Click on the picture below and help yourself to your own set of short and long vowel posters and the reading strategies cards. But only if you want to.
I printed my set of short and long vowels on the poster setting (4 sheets) on my printer.
I officially have three weeks and three days until my new set of first graders dances, prances, stumbles, skates, rollerblades, wind surfs….you get the picture…through my classroom.
I can’t believe I have almost 1,000 followers! I have some wonderful blogging friends
I believe it! Now I'm upset that I already printed and laminated the other word helper cards! hahah boo!

Thank you so much! These are great.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!!! I will definitely use these. I think that the one page version would be great for the kids to have in their vocabulary or writing folders (short and long vowels).
ReplyDeleteHow did you get the nice border on your chunky monkey, etc. ones?
These are wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing!

Love em! Thank you for sharing your hard work!

Love these posters! My kids will love them. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks! What font did you use for the words? It looks similar to wish you were taller, but I like how it doesn't mix capital and lowercase!
ReplyDeleteI'm a super-new blogger (like 2 days new) and I'm loving all the fun tips!

Teaming Up To Teach
I love how concise these are. We got our walls painted this summer and I know they won't want my cards hung up everywhere. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove these! Thank you so much for all of the wonderful things you share. I was also wondering about the borders you used on the Beanie Baby posters. I need to change one of them since I am using a leopard for "Spot the clues in the picture" instead of the eagle.
ReplyDeleteCarol
Thanks everybody for the lovely words :)
ReplyDeleteI used the DJ Inkers border from KiddlyWinks CD. The fonts on the posters are a combo of Smiley Monster, Wish I were Taller and Andrea Karime(I used Andrea Karime for the title in the short vowels poster).
These are wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow creative! I love the animals with the reading strategies! Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your hard work. Thanks for sharing.

I love your posters!! Thank you so much for sharing. I also love the reading strategy ones as well and haven't found any that cute. Would you mind sharing those as well? I clicked on them but they only print out tiny like thumbprint images. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteMake sure you click on the picture that shows the short vowel poster,it's after the pictures of the reading strategy posters, that's the only link to the file in this post.

ReplyDeleteI have the Kidillywinks CD but I can't figure out how to change the color of the border like you did! If it's not too much trouble, could you explain how you do that?
ReplyDeleteCarol
Fiftiesmom,
ReplyDeleteI copied the border and pasted it into Paint then selected the paint bucket, picked my colors and clicked.
Love 'em!

Hi! I LOVE your reading strategies posters because they are so stinkin' precious! Recently, I have made some similar, but I am now changing my other strategies (like Tryin' Lion) to match yours. However, I was wondering if you would be willing to share what word art settings you choose for the titles like "Chunky Monkey" and "Stretchy Snake"? Thanks a million! :)
ReplyDelete-Kris
Hey Kris!
ReplyDeleteI didn't use word art..I created the posters in Power Point and used the Wish I Were Taller font for the titles.
Okay thank you! Your titles look better than mine do. I love the shading and how the title looks like it is "jumping" off the page. Just curious if you used any special settings on the colors/font. Thanks so much for the response! :)
ReplyDelete-Kris
Kris:
ReplyDeleteI used the text shadow tool in Power Point...it should be on the Home tab on the toolbar. I think Word has a show text tool also.
make that shadow tool :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I'm going to school to laminate mine Monday. Thank you...
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing! These are much cuter than the ones I have. ^_^
ReplyDeleteThese are just fantabulous!! I am going to replace the ones I have with these because they are SOOOO cutey cute!! Thank you, girl!

Love your posters! Would love to print them as cards perhaps 4 to a page. How woould I best do that. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am in love! Thank you so much for sharing! This makes me so excited to get my room ready for the fall! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteLove the posters and would like to use them for desk plates. I pasted the thumbnail image but it is blurry. Can I get a doc that has 6 pages of same image-one of the long vowels and one of the short- or a doc that has same image 6 or 9 times on the same page?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the strategy posters! Love them. Just curious if you have or could make one for Skippy Frog? Thanks!

I love your posters! I'm a homeschool mom and this would help me so much! But for some reason, I am unable to print them. I get weird errors in the browser. Any chance you'd be able to email them to me? Thanks
ReplyDeleteI truly like to reading your post. Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a nice information.

Thank you so much! I had the same poster at the top and I pulled it off the wall and said that I needed to do something else with my vowel charts. They are perfect and I love the reading strategies! Thanks again!
